"It happens here."

about us

Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Elsie, the historic Antique Depot houses thousands of antiques all for sale.  If you can imagine it, the Antique Depot probably has it.  From political memorabilia to crocks.  From antique toys to glassware, and from liquor advertising to furniture, the Antique Depot has it all.  It's worth your time to spend and hour or so pursuing the collection that Dave has put together.  Also, the Antique Depot is stored in a Soo Line railroad depot with a storied history.

Business History

Construction of the Depot began in 1899 and was completed in 1902.  The original site of the structure was in downtown Hankinson.  The original structure was 240 feet long and included passenger, baggage, and cream can service.  "The Beanery," a full-time eater, was also included.  The second story housed the depot agent, so that he would be available to service all trains.

Although the usefulness of the Depot has passed at its former location, the rail system continues to be very important to the Hankinson community.  In 2003, Dave and Bev Paulson moved the Depot to its current site and started restoration.  Although the job will never be complete, the structure was saved from its scheduled demolition and has found a new function.
